Lisa Montes

Lisa Montes began studying and performing Spanish dancing at the age of seven with her grandmother Dame Maria del Carmen. Some highlights of her career include dancing with the Michigan Opera Theater in Bizet's Carmen and performing with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in their presentation of the music of Manuel de Falla. Lisa has had the opportunity to study with various masters of Spanish dance including, Paco Alonso, Vida Peral and Wendy Clinard. In 2007, she also had the opportunity to teach and perform in the United Kingdom. Although inspired by many of the flamenco greats, her truest inspiration will always be her grandmother.


                    

Mari Montes



Mari Montes started taking ballet, tap and jazz dance lessons at age 6. At age 7, she began her Spanish dance studies under her grandmother, the legendary Dame Maria del Carmen. Other remarkable dance instructors with whom she has studied include Paco Alonso, José Molina, Vida Peral and Wendy Clinard. Mari performs nearly every facet of Spanish dance, ranging from regional and classical dances of Spain, to the more famous flamenco dance form. Through the years she has worked with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Michigan Opera Theatre, and several local, talented flamenco guitarists.


                   Victoria Lara



Victoria Lara's career began with formal ballet, tap, jazz, Middle Eastern and gymnastic training. She went on to compete in Dance Masters of America competitions winning over-all and first place trophies. Later she joined the Windsor City Ballet for a season of the nutcracker. Victoria joined Dame Maria Del Carmen’s Grupo España in 1992 and under her instruction she performed professionally as one of the principal dancers. She was once called a “prodigy” of flamenco. Victoria has also studied with La Monica, Victorio, Vida Peral and Paco Alonso.
